Opening a Business Account:

Documentary requirements and general information

Angolan registered Companies
  • Certificate of Commercial Registry (certified copy less than 180 days old)
  • Photocopy of Diário da República (Official Government Gazette) publication
  • General Meeting Minutes corresponding to election of decision-making bodies and/or notarised power-of-attorney with authority to act before the bank (certified photocopies) (i.e if the signatories are not specifically mentioned on the Certificate of Commercial Registry)
  • Declaration by the company identifying all shareholders with more than 20% shareholding in the Company including the copies of the identification documents of these shareholders
  • Photocopy of commercial operating permit
  • Photocopy of NIF (Tax Number)
  • W8 - BEN- E (for non-US entities); if company is linked to the US, then (W9)
  • W8 and FACTA for individual signatories to the account as well as their valid Identity documents (for expats – has to be valid passport and visa), Fiscal cards and passport size photos.

Foreign Companies with a representative branch in Angola
  • Certificate of Commercial Registry (certified copy less than 180 days old)
  • Photocopy of Diário da República (Official Government Gazette) publication
  • General Meeting Minutes corresponding to election of decision-making bodies and/or notarised power-of-attorney with authority to act before the bank (certified photocopy)
  • Declaration by the company identifying all shareholders (including IDs of individual shareholders) with more than 20% shareholding in the Company
  • Proof of official Company website
  • Photocopy of NIF (Tax Number).

Foreign Companies with no registered branch in Angola
  • Certificate of Commercial Registry (Authenticated and stamped by the Angolan Consulate in that Country of the Company’s Head office)
  • General Meeting Minutes corresponding to election of decision-making bodies and/or notarised power-of-attorney with authority to act before the bank (Authenticated and stamped by the Angolan Consulate in that Country of the Company’s Head office)
  • Declaration by the company identifying all shareholders (including IDs of individual shareholders) with more than 20% shareholding in the Company.
  • Proof of official Company website.
